Momentum Review

I gave a practice quiz on Momentum to get everyone's head back in the game after the break.  Then we whiteboarded the review sheet, and I followed it up with the real quiz.  With the remaining 15 minutes of class students assembled their homework packets.

Third Law and Momentum

I checked the Newton's Third Law homework and we whiteboarded it.  I also did a momentum and impulse demonstration throwing an egg at a sheet.  I derived the impulse-momentum equation based on Newton's second law, and we did the inelastic collision demo lab that demonstrates that momentum is conserved.

Energy Exam

We took the energy exam and began discussing Newton's Third Law.  Click here for a brief tutorial.

I checked the homework.  You will need to correct your answers, as there will be a quiz on Friday.  We also took a quiz on power.  Most of the period was spent discussing heat capacity and doing the In Hot Water lab.  We discussed it and I stamped it.  The remainder of the period was spent working on the review sheet.
