I collected the Waves homework packet and gave the waves test.  The last 30 minutes we watched the Modern Marvels episode on batteries.

Water Waves

I checked the review sheet and gave time to correct it.   We also corrected the quizzes. We did a short wave tank activity. Complete this form this form for full credit.  We also watched the KQED Quest Science of Big Waves clip.

Casio Lab

We took 2 quizzes today and completed the Casio Lab.

Discuss Sound and Begin Casio Lab

I checked the homework and went over it.  We will have a quiz on the wave calculation and parts of a wave next class period.  We also took a quiz on adding waves.

I discussed the Great America Fieldtrip that occurs on Friday, May 18.  Money and permission slips are due on Thursday, March 29.

I also began our discussion of sound, focussing on frequency and decibel measurements.  I did a high frequency hearing test.

The last 15 minutes of class was spent learning how to use the Soundcapture software in Data Studio to analyze waves.

Seasons and Black Holes

I checked and corrected the homework (page 1 :: page 2)and lectured about the seasons and Einstein.  We watched a video on black holes also.  For homework, please complete the review sheet, then correct it using red pen.

History of Planetary Motion- Day 1

We began our discussion of planetary motion and the people involved in discovering what we know about our solar system and the universe.  We also did a number of activities on the Planetary Motion Demos and Mini-Labs hand-out.
